Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026. These terms apply when you use this website, create an account, or book an appointment with Mi Eyecare. Please read them carefully.
1. About us
This website is operated by MI OPTICS LTD, trading as Mi Eyecare (company number 13445858), registered in England and Wales at 485 Herringthorpe Valley Road, Rotherham, S65 3AD. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Mi Eyecare, and “you” means anyone using this website or our services.
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Using this website
The information on this website is provided for general information about our practice and services. It is not a substitute for an eye examination or professional clinical advice tailored to you.
If you experience sudden loss of vision, sudden eye pain, flashes or new floaters, or an eye injury, do not wait for an online booking. Contact us by phone, call NHS 111, or in an emergency call 999 or go to A&E.
You agree not to:
- Use the website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- Make bookings in someone else's name without their permission, or make false or duplicate bookings;
- Try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers, or other people's accounts;
- Interfere with the website's security or operation, including by sending automated or excessive requests.
3. Your account
To book online you need an account, which you can create with an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You agree to give accurate details and to keep them up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, reset your password and let us know straight away. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms.
4. Booking appointments
You can book an appointment online, by phone, or in person. An online booking is confirmed when you receive a booking reference on screen and a confirmation email. Available days and times are shown when you book and may change.
- Arriving: please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time. If you are running late we will do our best to see you, but we may need to rearrange your appointment.
- Changing or cancelling: you can view your bookings in My Bookings. If you cannot attend, please cancel or contact us as early as possible so the time can be offered to another patient.
- Changes by us: occasionally we may need to move or cancel an appointment, for example because of staff illness. If this happens we will contact you using the details you gave us and offer another time.
- Clinical judgement: the optometrist may recommend further tests, a referral, or a different type of appointment if this is in your clinical interest.
5. NHS and private eye tests
NHS-funded eye tests are available only to people who meet the NHS eligibility criteria. Booking an NHS eye test online does not confirm your eligibility. We may ask you to show evidence of eligibility at your appointment. If you are not eligible, we will explain the private options available before any charge is made.
For private services, glasses and contact lenses, we will tell you the price before you commit to buy. Prices and any payment terms will be confirmed in the practice.
6. Offers
Offers shown on our Offers page are available for the dates shown and are subject to any terms listed with each offer. Unless stated otherwise, offers cannot be combined with other offers or exchanged for cash. We may withdraw or change an offer at any time, but this will not affect a purchase you have already made.
7. Intellectual property
The content of this website, including text, images, logos and design, belongs to Mi Eyecare or is used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you must not copy, reproduce or use any content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
8. Links to other websites
This website may link to other websites, such as maps, social media, or Google sign-in. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, and a link does not mean we endorse them.
9. Website availability
We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors. We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website without notice, for example for maintenance.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.
We only provide this website for domestic and private use. We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption, or for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when you used the website.
11. Your personal data
We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services or the law. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. The terms in force when you make a booking apply to that booking.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Contact us
